Our home had two mortgages. It foreclosed a year ago, but the second mortgage is open. We believe that bankruptcy is the only way out of it but does anyone know any other way out of it? We don’t know any details of how much the first mortgage got for the home and why the second didn’t foreclose. By-the way, the home was in VA.
Thanks for your responses.

We’re in the market for a house, and it would seem that the lowering Fed rate would trickle down to the mortgage business. Instead, those rates keep going UP! How do they expect people to help out the economy by buying homes when they keep making it so unattainable and unattractive?

Seems like everyone does it.
We never did, because we refused to sign unless we could pay on our own.
But they pushed it.
Have the laws changed now so you can’t get a mortgage without these things on escrow?
Funny- we must have been one of the few years ago to put 20% down.

Mortgage company put us into foreclosure on the 1st because of being behind in the escrow but there is a second on the house, with the same company. How does that work?

Is it legal to quitclaim deed 50% of your home to someone else without notifying your lender who holds your mortgage first? If so, how does it work with the mortgage then? Does the new owner owe the mortgage if the lender is NOT advised of the quitclaim deed prior to the transfer?

Is doing this even legal?

We are renting and saving up for a house. We’re interested in the best strategy to own a house mortgage free. We’re open to modifying our lifestyle, saving like mad, and even building our own house. Living “green” and off the land is also important to us.
